Since 2007, we have been tracking investor sentiment within the PRS through our Young Index research.

Each quarter, we poll 500 active landlords seeking their opinions on a host of elements including their appetite to acquire investments, attitude to the mortgage market and financing, intended hold period, income and capital growth expectations and attitudes towards other investment classes and the practicalities of day-to-day asset management.

The results provide valuable insight into investors' likely future behaviour and an indicator of the strength of the sector.

The results are clearly influenced by the prevailing economic sentiment but without question investors see the PRS as an asset class for the long term.
